Why you need this part

How it works

Inside is a heated film/wire in the air stream. Incoming air cools it. The electronics hold a steady temperature and translate the cooling current to a voltage or frequency signal. The ECU reads this to calculate engine load and timing.

What happens if it’s broken ⚠️

Hard starts, rough idle, flat spots, weak acceleration, poor mpg, black smoke, high emissions, hunting shifts, and a Check Engine light (often P0100–P0103). The ECU may enter limp mode and use a default map, risking fouled plugs and catalyst damage.
