Rear A/C Evaporator Core (Cooling Unit) ❄️
This rear air-conditioning evaporator core is the heart of the back-seat cooling system. It is needed to remove heat and humidity from the cabin air, keeping passengers comfortable and preventing window fogging in humid weather. If your SUV has weak or warm air from the rear vents, this part is often a prime suspect.
How It Works
Cold refrigerant flows through thin internal passages while the blower pushes warm cabin air across the fins. Heat transfers into the refrigerant, and moisture condenses on the surface, then drains away through the case. The result is cold, dry air delivered to the rear vents.
What Happens When It Fails ⚠️
- Rear A/C blows warm or only slightly cool air
- Refrigerant leaks, low system pressure, compressor strain
