    Exhaust flange sealing ring — OEM ref MR450706 ?

    This high-temp sealing ring sits between exhaust flanges and locks hot gases inside the system. It’s needed to stop leaks, reduce noise, keep correct backpressure, and protect O2 sensor readings for smooth engine control. Built as a crush-type “donut” gasket, it conforms to pipe faces under torque, absorbing vibration and heat cycles for a tight, lasting seal ?.

    How it works ?

    When the joint is tightened, the ring compresses to fill microscopic gaps between the manifold/downpipe or mid-pipe flanges. The graphite/stainless composite resists up to extreme temperatures and prevents soot blow-by, maintaining efficient exhaust flow and catalytic converter performance.

    Why replace

    A worn ring causes tapping noise, sulfur smells in cabin, black soot at the joint, poor fuel economy, loss of low-end torque, and possible check-engine faults (sensor readings skewed). Prolonged leaks can overheat nearby parts and fail inspection.
