How it works
Stainless abutment clips and springs locate the pads and act as sliding surfaces. They dampen chatter, control pad retraction, and resist rust. With a thin film of high-temp grease on contact points, pads glide smoothly under braking loads.
What happens if it’s worn or broken
Squeal, rattle, clunk, tapered or rapid pad wear, dragging brakes, hot smell, warped rotors, longer stops, and higher fuel use. Broken clips can let a pad stick or shift, hurting stopping power and rotor life.
