    Piston Ring Set

    Consequences of a Broken Piston Ring

    Should the piston ring set become damaged or worn out, it can lead to a variety of engine issues. A broken ring will compromise sealing, leading to reduced compression and engine power. This often results in increased oil consumption, evident by blue smoke from the exhaust. Additionally, a damaged piston ring can cause blow-by, where combustion gases escape into the crankcase, causing increased engine oil contamination and potential damage to other components.
