Crankshaft Timing Gear for Mitsubishi Engines ⚙️
Why you need it
This precision crankshaft sprocket drives the cam system and locks engine timing. Without a healthy gear, the crank’s rotation won’t transfer cleanly to the belt/chain and camshafts. That means poor combustion, rough idle, weak power, and rising fuel use. Built from hardened steel with anti-corrosion finish, a quality cam drive gear gives quiet, durable performance and true OEM fit.
How it works ?️
Mounted on the crank nose via a keyed hub, the gear’s tooth profile meshes with the timing belt/chain and lines up with factory timing marks. Each revolution keeps pistons and valves synchronized, delivering crisp starts, stable idle, clean emissions, and full torque.
If worn or broken ❗
Watch for start-up rattle, timing drift, metal dust in the cover, misfire codes, and hard/no start. If teeth shear or the keyway elongates, the belt can jump, causing bent valves or total engine damage. Replace during timing service; inspect key, bolt, washer, and front seal. Torque correctly and recheck marks after rotation.
