    Rear Tailgate Latch Striker Plate

    This replacement tailgate striker keeps your rear door locked, aligned, and rattle‑free. Made from hardened, corrosion‑protected steel, it gives the latch a precise hook point for a tight seal, safe cargo keeping, and a quiet ride on- and off‑road.

    Why you need it

    Daily use, heavy tailgates, and vibration wear the loop and coating. Misalignment or wear leads to slamming, rattles, dust or water ingress, and uneven panel gaps. Replacing restores proper closure and body seal compression.

    How it works

    When you shut the hatch, the latch pawl clamps onto the U‑shaped loop. The tapered face centers the door, then the latch locks on the loop to hold tension on the weatherstrip. Result: secure lock and consistent shut line.

    If the part is damaged ️

    Bent, worn, or rusty hardware causes bounce‑back, intermittent locking, warning light on dash, or a door that pops open. It can chew the latch, stress hinges, and put cargo at risk.

    Fitment and install tips

    • Direct bolt‑on with factory hole spacing and oval slots for fine adjustment
    • Lightly grease the loop; torque bolts firmly; close‑test and adjust depth/height
    • Mark old position, clean threads, and align for flush closure
