    Steering Rack Mount Cushion for Mitsubishi

    This small but vital insulator supports the steering gear on the crossmember. It isolates vibration, keeps the rack centered, and stops harsh road shocks from reaching the steering column. Built from high-density elastomer with a reinforced sleeve, it matches OE geometry for quiet, precise steering and long service life.

    Why you need it ✅

    Stable mounting equals accurate wheel angle. This cushion prevents rack movement under load, reduces clunks, and protects tie rods and column joints. It improves steering feel, lowers cabin noise, and helps tires wear evenly—key for safety and smooth driving.

    How it works

    Clamped in the rack bracket, the bushing absorbs radial and torsional forces. Its elastomer core filters impacts while the inner sleeve guides bolt torque. Oil- and ozone-resistant compounds keep elasticity in heat, cold, and wet conditions for consistent alignment.

    What happens if it’s broken ⚠️

    Expect knocks over bumps, steering wander, off‑center wheel, shimmy at speed, and delayed response. Severe wear lets the rack shift, risking torn boots, fluid leaks, and uneven tire wear. In extreme cases, handling can become unpredictable—replace immediately.

    Tech tips

    Install in pairs, torque at ride height, and align wheels after service. Inspect brackets and bolts; any corrosion or oval holes must be corrected to avoid premature wear.
