Cabin Cooler Temperature Sensor (No.2) for Toyota

This small temperature-sensing unit is needed to help your Toyota’s A/C system measure how cold the evaporator area is. By feeding accurate temperature data to the climate control module, it prevents the system from overcooling, icing up, or blowing inconsistent air ️.

How It Works

Inside is a heat-sensitive resistor (thermistor). As the air and evaporator temperature changes, its resistance changes too. The control unit reads this signal and adjusts compressor cycling and airflow targets to keep cabin temperature stable and comfortable ❄️.

What Happens If It’s Broken

When this sensor fails, the A/C may act “confused”: weak cooling, sudden warm blasts, evaporator freeze-up, foggy windows, or the compressor running too often or not enough. You might also see HVAC fault codes or notice the fan working hard with poor results ⚠️. Replacing the faulty sensor restores proper A/C control, protects the compressor, and improves fuel efficiency.
