Why this part is needed

How it works
A pulley freewheels on a sealed bearing. When the coil receives 12V, it creates a magnetic field that pulls the drive plate against the pulley face, locking them together and turning the compressor. A precise air gap ensures quick, quiet on/off cycles.
What happens if it’s broken
