    A/C Compressor Magnetic Clutch Hub Assembly ❄️

    This hub assembly is a key link between the engine belt drive and the A/C compressor. It is needed to let your air conditioning switch ON and OFF smoothly without forcing the compressor to spin all the time. When you request cold air, the magnet coil pulls the hub into contact with the pulley face, locking them together so the compressor turns. When cooling is not needed, it releases and the compressor freewheels, reducing load and saving fuel.

    How It Works 🧲

    The electromagnetic coil creates a magnetic field that attracts the hub plate. Friction surfaces meet, torque transfers, and the compressor starts pumping refrigerant. Correct air gap and a true-running hub keep engagement quiet and efficient.

    Signs of Failure & What Happens If Broken ⚠️

    • A/C blows warm even with correct refrigerant charge
    • Clicking, squeal, or burning smell near compressor
    • Intermittent cooling from slipping engagement

    If ignored, the clutch can overheat, damage the pulley bearing, shred the belt, or stress the compressor front shaft.
