Why you need it
Without a healthy panhard bar, the axle can shift sideways during bumps or cornering. This leads to steering corrections, body sway, and faster tire wear. A solid bar restores precise alignment, reduces wobble, and keeps the vehicle pointing true.
How it works ⚙️
The bar links the chassis to the axle with pivoting bushings. As the suspension travels, it guides the axle in a controlled arc, holding it near center. Correct length and strong bushings maintain geometry, stability, and predictable steering feedback.
If it’s damaged or worn ⚠️
Expect clunks over bumps, “dog-tracking,” off-center rear axle, steering shimmy, and uneven tire shoulders. Severe wear can cause lane drift and reduced braking stability. Replace if bent, rust-weakened, or if bushings crack. After install, torque bolts at ride height and check alignment.
