Left Side Steering Tie Rod End Assembly

This steering joint is a critical link between the steering rack and the front wheel knuckle. It’s needed to transfer your steering input into precise wheel movement, keeping the car stable and predictable on straight roads and in corners 🚗.

How It Works

Inside the end housing is a ball-and-socket joint. It allows smooth angle changes while the suspension moves up and down, yet stays tight enough to hold the wheel alignment. The threaded section lets technicians set toe angle accurately for even tire wear.

Signs It’s Worn or Broken

If the joint loosens or the boot tears and grease escapes, dirt enters and the ball stud wears fast. You may notice clunking over bumps, steering wander, vibrations, or uneven tire wear. In severe cases, the joint can separate, causing loss of steering control—an immediate safety risk ⚠️.
