This OE-grade friction plate transfers engine power to the gearbox with smooth, positive engagement. Why you need it
Over time the facings wear thin and glaze, causing slip, shudder, and a burnt smell. Replacing the disc restores acceleration, protects the flywheel and cover, improves fuel economy, and prevents costly drivetrain shock.
How it works
Friction linings on both sides clamp between flywheel and pressure cover. A splined hub locks to the transmission input shaft, while torsion springs absorb vibration and torque spikes. When you press the pedal, the cover releases; when you lift, the disc bites and transmits torque ✅.
What happens if it’s broken ❗
Expect high‑RPM slip, slow launches, gear rattle, vibration, and loss of drive on hills. Continued use can scorch the flywheel, crack the cover, wear the input splines, and leave you stranded.
Pro install tips
Resurface or replace the flywheel, clean mating faces, use an alignment tool, torque bolts in a star pattern, and bed in gently for 300–500 km. Inspect pilot and release bearings while inside.
