    How it works

    Pedal motion drives the slave cylinder. The lever pivots on a ball stud and pushes the throwout bearing into the diaphragm spring, separating engine and gearbox. This controlled motion lets you select gears without grind, chatter, or drag.

    What happens if it’s broken ❗

    Expect hard or inconsistent pedal, grinding into gear, clutch drag, shudder, squeaks, or sudden no‑release if it snaps. Continued use can scar the pressure plate, overheat the bearing, and wear the input sleeve—risking costly transmission work.
