    Efficient EGR Vacuum Modulator for Cleaner Power

    Why your engine needs it

    This small controller meters vacuum to the EGR valve so the engine recirculates the right amount of exhaust gas. That lowers NOx, cools combustion, prevents detonation, and smooths highway cruise. It helps pass emissions tests, protects valves and pistons, and keeps the catalytic converter healthy. A precise modulator means stable drivability and better fuel economy .

    How it works

    Inside sits a diaphragm, bleed orifice, tiny filter, and barbed ports. It senses exhaust backpressure and trims vacuum coming from the VSV before it reaches the EGR valve. At light throttle it allows more vacuum so EGR opens; at idle or wide-open throttle it bleeds vacuum to keep EGR shut. This balance maintains clean burn, steady torque, and smooth idle.

    What happens if it’s broken

    A cracked diaphragm, clogged filter, or brittle hoses throw EGR control off. Stuck closed: pinging under load, high NOx, hot chambers, poor mileage. Stuck open: rough idle, stalling, hard starting, sulfur smell or smoke. Expect a Check Engine Light and EGR flow codes. Left unchecked, it can damage the catalyst and fail inspection ⚠️.

    Tech notes

    Replace vacuum lines, route as factory, and test with a hand pump. Verify VSV and EGR valve action. Avoid harsh cleaners on the filter port.
