Front Upper Spring Seat (Strut Perch) 🔧
This component supports the front coil spring on the strut, centers it, and dampens vibration. It keeps the spring seated correctly so your Subaru tracks straight, brakes stable, and rides quiet. A fresh seat restores suspension geometry and saves the top mount and bearing from shock loads. 🚗
How it works
A stamped steel cup with a bonded rubber insulator cradles the top of the coil spring. It spreads load into the strut mount, prevents metal-to-metal contact, and reduces noise, vibration, and harshness. Proper fit keeps the spring aligned during compression and rebound for precise steering feel.
If worn or broken ⚠️
Expect clunks on bumps, creaks while turning, steering kickback, wandering, and uneven tire wear. The spring can shift, ride height may sag on one side, and braking stability suffers. Long-term, it can chew the top mount and deform the spring end. Replace promptly to avoid extra costs.
