    Glow Plug - Essential for Diesel Engines

    The glow plug is a vital component in diesel engines, especially during cold weather. Its primary role is to heat the air in the combustion chamber, ensuring that the diesel fuel ignites properly. Without it, starting the engine in low temperatures can lead to misfire or even failure to start, as diesel engines rely heavily on heat generated from compression and pre-combustion to ignite the fuel.

    How It Works

    Glow plugs work by using an electric current to heat a thin metal coil housed in the plug. This metal coil glows red hot, hence the name 'glow plug.' When you turn the ignition key, the electrical current flows through the glow plug for a few seconds before you start the engine. This pre-heating phase ensures the air/fuel mixture reaches the required temperature for efficient combustion, leading to a smooth engine start.
