Crankshaft Drive Pulley ⚙️
This crankshaft drive pulley is a key engine part that transfers rotation from the crankshaft to the auxiliary belt system. It helps run important units such as the alternator, power steering pump, air conditioning compressor, and water pump on many engines. A good pulley keeps belt movement smooth, reduces vibration, and supports stable engine work.
Why This Part Is Needed ?
The pulley is fitted at the front of the engine and works every time the engine runs. Its rubber damping layer absorbs crankshaft vibration and protects the belt system from shock loads. This helps prevent belt noise, poor charging, weak cooling, and extra stress on connected components.
How It Works ✅
As the crankshaft turns, the pulley spins at the same speed and drives the belt. The outer ring guides the belt, while the inner hub stays fixed to the crankshaft. The damper section softens torsional vibration, giving smoother operation and longer belt life.
If It Fails ⚠️
A worn or cracked pulley may cause squealing noise, belt wobble, engine vibration, or visible separation of the rubber layer. If ignored, the belt can slip or come off, causing battery warning light, overheating, loss of steering assist, or damage to nearby parts.
