Engine Oil Pickup Strainer for Mitsubishi ️

This sump pickup strainer feeds the oil pump with clean lubricant so your engine holds steady pressure under daily use and hard off‑road angles. It keeps metal chips, gasket crumbs, and sludge out of bearings, cams, and the turbo, extending engine life and keeping the oil light off.

Why this part is needed

Without a healthy pickup screen, debris can block flow, the pump can cavitate, and film strength drops. Proper flow means quiet starts, stable idle pressure, and reliable protection at high load and high temperature.

How it works

Mounted low in the oil pan, the bell-mouth tube sits below the oil level. A fine mesh filters large particles before oil enters the pump. A sealing O-ring/gasket prevents air leaks, and a rigid bracket holds the tube at the correct height for consistent priming, even on steep grades.

What happens if it fails

Clogged mesh or cracked pickup = low pressure, warning light, lifter rattle, bearing knock, or turbo damage. A torn screen lets debris reach the pump. Bent or loose mounts cause aeration and delayed pressure on cold start. Replace if dented, varnished, or the mesh is dark and collapsed.

Pro install tips ️

Clean the pan, check sludge, use a new O-ring, torque bolts correctly, verify pickup-to-pan clearance, and prime the system. After install, monitor hot-idle pressure. ✅
