    Engine Oil Control Valve Assembly ⚙️

    This precision valve is needed to manage how engine oil is routed to the variable valve timing system. Subaru engines rely on clean, correctly controlled oil pressure to adjust cam timing on the fly, giving better pull at low rpm and smoother power at higher rpm. ✅

    How it works

    The ECU commands the valve’s internal solenoid to open and close oil passages. By metering oil flow and pressure, it shifts the cam phaser position in small steps. When operating correctly, you get stable idle, crisp throttle response, and efficient fuel burn.

    What happens if it fails

    A sticking or electrically weak valve can cause rough idle, hesitation, loss of power, higher fuel use, and timing-related fault codes. In severe cases, wrong cam timing may increase knocking risk and accelerate wear. If contamination is the cause, always check oil condition and filter quality.
