Engine Head Sealing Gasket ?️
This sealing gasket sits between the engine block and the cylinder head. It is needed to lock in compression, keep coolant and engine oil in their own channels, and stop leaks under high heat and pressure. Without a healthy seal, the engine cannot run at full power or stable temperature.
How It Works ⚙️
When the head bolts are torqued down, the gasket compresses and forms a tight barrier around combustion chambers and fluid passages. Its layered material handles expansion and contraction as the engine warms up, helping maintain an even seal during hard driving and towing.
If It’s Damaged or Blown ?
A failed gasket can cause overheating, coolant loss, oil contamination (milky oil), white smoke from the exhaust, rough idle, misfires, and low compression. If ignored, it may warp the cylinder head, damage bearings, or lead to total engine failure.
