Engine Knock Sensor for Toyota – precise combustion control ⚙️

Why you need it ✅

This detonation sensor protects your engine and keeps power smooth. It “listens” for pinging (knock) and lets the ECU correct ignition timing in real time. The result is safer combustion, better fuel economy, and longer life for pistons, rings, and the catalytic converter. Ideal when restoring factory performance or fixing a Check Engine light.

How it works

A piezoelectric element inside the housing picks up block vibrations. It converts knock energy into a voltage signal. The ECU compares this signal to learned patterns and retards timing only on the affected bank or cylinder. Proper mounting torque and a clean, flat seat on the block are critical for accurate readings.

If it’s faulty

Expect MIL on (codes P0325/P0330),sluggish acceleration, higher fuel use, and possible spark knock under load. Prolonged driving may overheat the cat and risk internal engine damage. Inspect the harness, connector, and ground, then replace and clear codes. Do not overtighten during install.
