The reinforced rubber hose absorbs engine movement and vibration, while the formed steel tube keeps the route stable and away from heat and rubbing points. Together, they hold pump pressure and deliver fluid to the steering system without expansion or restriction, helping maintain correct assist and steady steering feel.

What happens when it fails ❗

If this line cracks, rubs through, or its crimps/seals leak, fluid loss starts fast. You may notice whining from the pump, stiff steering, jerky assist, or wet spots around fittings. Driving with low fluid can overheat the pump and damage internal steering seals, turning a simple leak into an expensive repair.
