PCV valve for Nissan engines

Keep your engine breathing right. This positive crankcase ventilation unit restores stable idle, clean emissions, and correct crankcase pressure. Built to OE geometry for accurate metering and long seal life, it helps protect oil, gaskets, and fuel economy.

Why you need it

Combustion blow‑by carries fuel vapors and moisture into the crankcase. The valve routes these gases back to the intake to be burned, preventing sludge, acid build‑up, and pressure that can push oil past seals. It’s a small part with a big effect on engine health.

How it works ⚙️

Inside is a spring‑loaded pintle that acts as a one‑way, metered orifice. High vacuum (idle) draws a small flow; moderate vacuum (cruise) opens it further; a backfire snaps it shut to block flame. Correct flow depends on precise spring rate and orifice size.

When it’s bad ⚠️

Rough idle or stalling, whistle, oily air hose, blue/black smoke, rising oil use, sludge, wet gaskets, dipstick popping, fuel trims off, and a check‑engine light. Stuck open = lean mix and misfires; stuck closed = high crankcase pressure and leaks.

Install tips ✅

Work on a cool engine. Unscrew old unit, inspect hose, fit new washer if required, hand‑start threads, tighten to spec, and clear codes. Replace brittle hoses for a leak‑free seal.
