How it works

When Reverse is selected, the module powers up and streams video from a high-sensitivity CMOS sensor through shielded wiring to the infotainment screen. The lens projects a wide field, while the onboard controller manages brightness, white balance, and noise. Many vehicles display static or dynamic guidelines based on the steering input.

If it’s broken ⚠️

Black or blue screen, “camera unavailable” message, flicker, foggy/blurry image, or water inside the lens means failure. You risk bumper scrapes, curb rash, or worse—missed pedestrians. Some inspections can flag a faulty camera on vehicles originally equipped with it.

Installation tips

Direct-fit bracket and OEM connectors. Inspect tailgate loom for pin damage, clean ground, and update head-unit settings if required. After fitting, verify image orientation and guideline accuracy in reverse.
