Why this part is needed

Without correct refrigerant metering, the system can’t absorb heat. The cabin warms up, the compressor overworks, and fuel use rises. A quality valve restores cold vent temps and protects the whole HVAC system.

How it works

A sensing bulb reads evaporator outlet temperature. Through a diaphragm and needle, it opens or closes to create a pressure drop, turning high-pressure liquid into low-pressure mix. The result: efficient R134a cooling and balanced system pressures.

What happens if it fails ⚠️

Stuck closed: weak cooling, high high-side, noisy cycling, compressor overheating. Stuck open: icing on lines/evaporator, foggy vents, liquid return (risk of slugging),uneven temps. Left unchecked, it can kill the compressor and contaminate the system.

Pro install tips

Replace receiver/drier, renew green HNBR O-rings with light PAG oil, evacuate 30–45 min, charge by weight, and leak-test. Flush if old compressor failed.
