This steering rack end set is a key link between the steering rack and the front wheel hub. It is needed to keep the wheels tracking straight, turning smoothly, and holding correct wheel alignment. When you turn the steering wheel, the rack pushes/pulls this joint, and the ball-and-socket design allows movement while the suspension travels.

The threaded body sets toe angle, while the greased ball joint pivots under load. A strong dust boot helps keep dirt and water out, protecting the joint surface and keeping steering response tight and quiet.

If the Part Is Worn or Broken ⚠️

A damaged rack end can cause steering play, clunks over bumps, vibration, and rapid tire wear. In severe cases the joint can loosen dangerously, reducing control during braking or cornering. Replacing in pairs and doing a wheel alignment is the correct workshop practice.
