Why your vehicle needs it

Proper cooling protects the head gasket, radiator, hoses, and transmission cooler. A healthy clutch balances cooling force and efficiency, maintaining the designed operating temperature under load.

How it works

A thermostatic bimetal spring opens an internal valve as air from the radiator warms. High‑viscosity silicone fluid flows between drive and driven plates; fluid shear transmits torque, spinning the fan faster. When air cools, flow reduces and the fan freewheels.

What happens if it’s broken

Stuck off: overheating in traffic, weak A/C at idle, coolant boil‑over. Stuck on: loud roaring, poor MPG, sluggish power. Other signs: silicone leak, bearing wobble, fan clutch engages late. Continued use risks warped head, cracked radiator, or blown gasket. ⚠️
