Why this part is needed

This cover seals the top of the cylinder head, keeping engine oil inside and dirt out. It guides crankcase vapors to the PCV system, protects the valvetrain, and provides solid mounting for ignition coils. A tight, heat‑resistant gasket prevents leaks, stabilizes idle, and keeps your hybrid powertrain efficient.

How it works

Bolted to the head with a molded gasket and internal baffles, the cover contains oil splash from the rocker and cam area. Passages route vapors to intake, reducing pressure and emissions. The design maintains correct oil control at high RPM and temperature, safeguarding lubrication and coil connectors.

What if it fails ⚠️

Cracks or a hardened gasket cause oil leaks, burning oil smell, smoke near the exhaust, and messy plug wells that can trigger misfire, rough idle, and a check engine light. Unmetered air from a warped cover upsets fuel trims, while low oil risks top-end wear.

Tech notes & install tips ️

Inspect PCV passages, replace the gasket, clean mating surfaces, and torque bolts in sequence. Use OEM‑grade seal. After install, verify no vacuum leaks and coil boots are dry.
