Light & Turn Signal Control Switch for Steering Column ??
This steering column switch is the driverโs main control for headlights, parking lights, high/low beam, and turn indicators. You need it for safe visibility, clear signaling to other drivers, and to meet road rules.
How It Works โ๏ธ
Inside the switch are precision copper contacts and a detent spring system. When you move the stalk, the contacts route power to the lighting circuits and indicator circuit. The turn position sends a pulsed signal through the flasher relay, while the headlight positions feed the lighting relay and dimmer circuit for high/low beam selection.
Common Signs of Failure & What Happens If It Breaks โ
If the switch wears out, contacts may arc, loosen, or stick. You may get no turn signals, one-side-only flashing, lights that cut out over bumps, or high beam that wonโt latch. Driving with a faulty unit can reduce night visibility, increase accident risk, and may overload wiring due to poor contact resistance.
