This rear engine mount supports the powertrain and isolates vibration from the body. It keeps NVH low, holds the engine at the correct height, and protects nearby parts like the exhaust flex, radiator hoses, and driveshaft joints during daily driving and off‑road use.
How it works ⚙️
A bonded rubber–metal assembly anchors the rear of the engine–gearbox unit. The elastomer core absorbs torque twist under acceleration and braking, while tuned voids control idle shake. Working with the front mounts, it forms a three‑point system that keeps alignment precise and reduces harshness.
What happens if it fails ⚠️
Expect strong vibration in the cabin, clunks on shifts, engine rocking, and driveline misalignment. You may see torn hoses, stressed exhaust flex, premature CV and mount wear, and even sheared studs under load. Left unchecked, it can damage shifter links and catalytic converters.
Tech notes and install tips ✅
Direct bolt-on OE geometry. Always support the engine, align dowels, and torque fasteners at normal ride height. Replace crushed or oil-soaked mounts, inspect crossmember bushes, and recheck torque after a short drive.
