Mitsubishi Ignition Distributor Assembly

Restore crisp starts and clean acceleration with this OEM‑grade ignition distributor assembly. It brings back precise spark timing, smooth idle, and dependable power delivery in Mitsubishi petrol engines. Built for direct fit and reliability, it’s an ideal replacement before misfires grow into costly repairs.

Why this part is needed

The distributor sends high voltage to each spark plug at the exact moment. Correct timing improves throttle response, fuel economy, and emissions. Heat, vibration, and age wear the cap, rotor, bearings, and pickup sensor—slowly shifting timing and causing misfires.

How it works ⚡

Driven by the camshaft, the distributor shaft spins the rotor under the cap. Coil energy jumps to the rotor tip and then to each terminal, firing plugs in sequence. A pickup sensor and igniter provide timing signals to the ECU, which adjusts advance by load and rpm for clean combustion.

If the distributor fails

Expect hard starts, rough idle, flat spots, backfire, or no‑spark. Cracked caps, worn shafts, or moisture lead to carbon tracking and random misfire. Continued driving can overheat and damage the catalytic converter, raise fuel use, and strain coils and plugs.

Tech tips

Set engine to TDC on cylinder 1, mark the old position, transfer the O‑ring, lightly oil the seal, and align the drive properly. After install, verify base timing and plug wire order; apply dielectric grease and tighten cap screws gently.
