Steering Lock Key Sub Set ??
This ignition/steering key set is needed to let the driver safely unlock the steering column and start the vehicle with the correct coded key. It is a critical security and control part: without it, the steering lock may stay engaged or the ignition may not recognize the key.
How It Works
When you insert and turn the key, the inner tumblers align to a matching pattern, allowing the lock barrel to rotate. That movement releases the steering lock pin and actuates the ignition switch position (ACC/ON/START). Many modern setups also work with an immobilizer chip in the key, helping prevent theft. β
Why Replacement Matters
Worn keys and tired lock wafers can cause sticking, hard turning, or intermittent start issues. Replacing the key sub set restores smooth operation, correct engagement, and reliable steering release.
If Itβs Broken or Worn β οΈ
- Key wonβt turn or gets stuck in the cylinder
- Steering stays locked, car cannot be driven
- Ignition positions fail (no ACC/ON/START response)
- Immobilizer may block starting due to key mismatch
- Higher risk of lock damage from forced turning
