Premium Oxygen Sensor for Toyota SUVs 🔧
This OEM-grade O2 (lambda) sensor tracks oxygen in the exhaust so the ECU can hold the ideal air‑fuel ratio. With accurate feedback, your engine runs cleaner, smoother, and more efficiently, protecting the catalytic converter and lowering emissions. 🌿🚗
Why this part is needed
It keeps closed‑loop fueling precise during cruising and idle, improving MPG and throttle response. The sensor also helps prevent rich mixtures that overheat and poison the catalyst, saving you from costly repairs.
How it works
A zirconia element compares oxygen inside the exhaust to outside air and generates a voltage (about 0.1–0.9 V). The ECU reads this swing and trims fuel in real time. An internal heater brings the sensor up to temperature quickly for stable readings after start.
What happens if it fails
Symptoms include rough idle, sluggish pick‑up, higher fuel use, sulfur smell, sooty tailpipe, and a Check Engine Light. If the signal is slow or dead, the ECU may go open‑loop and run rich, risking catalyst damage and emissions test failure. ⚠️
Install notes
Warm the exhaust, use a proper O2 socket, avoid twisting the lead, fit with nickel‑free anti‑seize, torque to spec, then clear codes and verify trims. 🧰
