Why this part is needed
This wiper linkage restores smooth, synchronized blade movement for clear vision in rain, snow, and spray. Wear in the joints or pivots leads to play, misalignment, and noisy operation. Replacing the linkage brings factory wiping pattern and reliable performance back to your windshield.
How it works
The electric wiper motor turns a crank that drives this linkage. Steel arms and ball-and-socket bushings transfer motion to the left and right pivots on the cowl. The pivots move the wiper arms in a timed sweep, keeping both blades in step. Proper geometry ensures full glass coverage and quiet operation.
What happens if it’s broken
Symptoms include one blade not moving, jerky or uneven wipes, clacking noises, or blades stopping mid-sweep. In severe cases the arms can collide or stall the motor, blowing a fuse. Visibility drops fast in bad weather, and glass or blades can wear prematurely.
