Headlamp/Auto‑Light Control Module
This smart lighting ECU manages low/high beams, DRL, auto‑on function, and leveling/AFS (where equipped). It keeps your lights compliant, balanced, and responsive to driving and ambient light.
Why you need it
A healthy control module ensures clear night vision, correct beam height under load, and automatic switching at dusk or in tunnels. It protects wiring by driving lamps with the right voltage and logic, improving bulb and battery life.
How it works
The unit reads signals from the light sensor, steering angle, height sensors, and the body network (CAN‑bus). It then commands relays or solid‑state drivers to power lamps and adjusts aim in real time. It also performs self‑checks at key‑on for faults.
What happens if it fails ⚠️
Symptoms include lights not turning on, random flicker, stuck high/low beams, DRL inoperative, leveling/AFS warning, wrong beam aim, or parasitic battery drain. In severe cases, night driving safety is reduced and the vehicle can fail inspection.
Tech notes & install
Use a stable 12V supply, clean grounds, and correct connectors. After replacement, clear DTCs and perform leveling/AFS calibration if required. Avoid moisture and shorts; mount firmly to reduce vibration.
