This precision edge trim finishes the top border of the windscreen and seals the gap between glass and roof skin. It protects the cabin from wind, water, and dust, while giving the front end a clean factory look. Why it’s needed 🛡️
Without a tight top seal, air pressures rise at speed, causing whistle noise, water seepage in rain, and corrosion at the pinch weld. The trim also shields the urethane bond from sunlight, extending windshield adhesive life.
How it works 🔧
The moulding snaps or slides into the channel along the upper glass edge, compressing slightly to form a continuous barrier. Flexible lips deflect airflow and guide water away from the glass seam.
When it fails ⚠️
Expect fluttering noise, leaks, stained headliner, and eventual rust at the roof line. Loose trim can lift at speed and tear, risking glass edge chips.
Install tips
Clean old adhesive, verify clip alignment, seat from center outward, and avoid stretching. For best bond, install above 10°C and keep the car dry for 24 hours.
