Outer CV Joint Dust Boot for Subaru Axle
This high-strength axle boot seals and protects the outer constant velocity joint on the front driveshaft. It locks in moly grease and blocks water, sand, and road salt. If you drive daily or push hard, this small part saves the CV joint from costly wear and keeps your Subaru steering smooth and quiet.
Why you need it
A healthy CV boot acts like a flexible shield. It keeps grease where it belongs and keeps dirt out. Without it, the joint runs dry, overheats, and grinds. Replacing the boot early prevents buying a whole shaft later.
How it works ⚙️
The ribbed elastomer bellows flexes with suspension travel and steering angle. Stainless clamps seal both ends to the joint and axle. Fresh moly grease is packed inside; as the joint rotates, grease flows and lubricates the bearings evenly.
What happens if it’s broken ⚠️
Tears cause grease spray inside the wheel, clicking on turns, vibration, and rusty joint bearings. Soon you may face ABS issues, inspection failure, or a seized joint that forces a complete driveshaft replacement.
Tech tips ✅
Replace at first sign of cracking. Clean the joint, repack with quality moly grease, and fit new clamps. Torque hub hardware to spec and check boot clearance at full lock.
