Manual Gearbox 4th Gear Synchronizer Ring
This precision synchronizer ring is a key wear-part inside the manual transmission. It is needed to match the speed of the 4th gear and the shaft before the shift sleeve locks in. When everything is timed right, you get smooth, quiet upshifts and downshifts ?.
How It Works
During a shift into 4th, the ring creates controlled friction against the gear cone. That friction “brakes” or “speeds up” the gear to the same RPM as the hub. Once speeds match, the sleeve engages the dog teeth cleanly, preventing grind and protecting the gear set.
Why You Should Replace It
