Rear Suspension Shock Mount (Top Mount) for Subaru
This suspension mount sits at the top of the rear shock/strut and connects it to the vehicle body. It is needed to keep the damper aligned, absorb vibration, and stop harsh road noise from reaching the cabin .
How it works
Inside the mount is a strong rubber isolator bonded to metal. As the suspension moves up and down, the rubber cushions impact while holding the shock rod firmly in position. On some setups, it also helps the strut rotate smoothly and keeps the spring and damper working in the correct angle.
Why replacing it matters
A healthy top mount keeps handling stable, protects the shock absorber, and prevents clunks. It also helps maintain proper ride height feel and reduces body shake on bumps.
