Front Door Latch Module – OEM-Grade Security

This precision latch and actuator restores safe, reliable locking on the front door. It keeps the door closed under vibration, weather, and impacts, and links your key, interior handle, and power lock switch so daily use stays smooth and quiet.

Why you need it

Worn pins, stretched cables, cracked gears, or a weak actuator motor cause hard locking, rattles, double-bounce on closing, or doors that won’t secure. Replacing the module brings back crisp handle feel, clean latch engagement, and factory anti-theft performance.

How it works

Inside the housing, a geared motor drives a cam that moves the latch pawl. The pawl grabs the body striker; microswitches report status to the BCM for central locking and alarm. Rods and cables from inner/outer handles provide mechanical release, while a child-safety lever blocks the inside handle. Seals and grease protect the mechanism from dust and moisture.

If it fails

Signs include bounce-back, random lock cycles, stuck door, key fob not responding, alarm false triggers, or battery drain. Ignoring it can overheat the actuator, strip gears, and damage handles or cables; in extreme cases the door may open while driving—serious safety risk.

Tech notes

Direct-fit with factory wiring; transfer fasteners and check striker alignment. Torque to spec and test both handles, key, and remote.
